Hypnosis For Stopping Smoking
We all know that cigarettes, smoking, nicotine are additive and harmful and expensive. At a conscious level you may have wanted to quit smoking for months, years even. Yet, try as might you have managed to stop, yet. What you probably don’t know, and what you probably haven’t been told before is: it’s not your fault.
We all have a natural reward system, something that gives us that real ‘feel good’ factor. In nicotine addiction, your natural mechanisms and instincts and being tricked into making you think you need this substance, that it makes you feel better, relaxed even, when in fact that very same substances causes the stress/tension in your body that makes you want another one to take that stress/tension away: a vicious circle. It’s known as ‘the nicotine trick’.
The good news is that it’s possible to re-programme the mind to recognise these tricks and to finds other ways to make you ‘feel better’ (ways that really work; to develop different habits and routines, different ways to cope with the things that you were using cigarettes for etc. It’s like taking out an old programme and installing a new more effective one.
When you are really ready to quit smoking, cognitive hypnotherapy can help make it easier to do this, be free of smoking. It will give you the tools and resources you need to be able to achieve this as soon as possible, and in a way that is sustainable for you.
Whether you consider yourself a social smoker or a heavy smoker, the thought of quitting can be daunting. While it certainly can be challenging it is, without doubts one of the best things and most positive things you can do for your health. The financial savings are also quite significant. Did you know, if you smoke 20 cigarettes per day it’s probably costing in you in the region of £8,500 per year.
My approach is to provide an extended session of approximately 3 hours where we, explore your reasons for quitting, when and why you started smoking originally, what success you had in quitting in the past, what the benefits of this, are from your perspective, and what some of the real life challenges might be (so that we can manage these pragmatically at a conscious and unconscious level). Most people only need one cessation to be free of smoking, however I provide an additional follow up session (free of charge) within 12 months if desired.
All of this material is used to build a bespoke treatment session for you including a personal MP3 Download/CD for you to use a home to reinforce the work done in the session so that this really takes hold and remain you remain smoke free.
What will this programme cost you? This investment in your self, your health and future is £220., and if you were smoking 20 per day, you would recoup that in just one month. What will you do with all the money you save after that? A great dilemma to have! Perhaps a more important question is, what will it cost you if you don’t do it: if you carrying on smoking?
